I think i remember hearing something about being able to tell sex of a chick by tail feathers? is this true?? my one chick's tail feathers are growing in while the other one has absolutely no sign of a tail growing and they're only about an hour apart in age. they're 6 days old now.

I have 21 pullets and 6 straight run. Most of the pullets are getting quite alot of tail feathers. I have heard that roos dont feather out as quickly as pullets and this was the cause with my RIR roo last year. He just looked like a lanky teen alot longer.

well that would make sense... the one with more feathers is calmer, easier to handle. the other one is constantly going, 'put me down! put me down! put me down!' lol.
