Humidity and temp seem to be the most mysterious part of hatching.Up down why?
Temp in house is the same, but temp yesterday... couldnt get it up over 98.8 no matter what i did.itsrun at 100.1 -100.8 the whole hatch until yesterday.
Started turning the leverup and up and up. Then went to finally 99.1
I figured this is close enough not to worry...fine all night ...Humidity the whole time was 64-67
Now this morning just now the humidity is 62 and temp is 101.5!Highest its been the whole hatch.
Added water humidity is going up slightly but temp is 101.5, Why does it all change for no reason ?
Its day 21 and i have had no movement AT ALL.
The eggs at day 18 all looked only half full of dark (brown eggs) not like photos look.More
like day 10.I am thinking they are dead but i smelled the fan exaust no bad smell and cracked the bator just now tiny crack.... no bad smell.
Would it stink if they were dead for some days?
Wonder if its gone up b/c of chicks gonna hatch or guck... bacteria is festering in the dead eggs!
Any thoughts?

Mine started to rise because chicks were getting ready to hatch so that is good for you. It will climb on heat it can go all the way up to 103.00 and you don't have to worry mine spiked but never hit 103.0 so I really don't think you have to worry. But the humidity in mine right now is 81% and digital one reads 101.0 and the incubator one I bought that is a spot tester on egg reads my eggs are 100..7 it is the most reliable one you can get. So I have been going by both. 1st one for air temp and 2nd for the egg temp.

So were you able to get the humidity up? Did any hatch?
