101.4 isn't worry worthy. You can try to get it down to 99-100 if you can, as higher temp will make them grow faster and might cause some harm, but if you get it back to closer to norm it should be fine. Anything under 102 for short periods is usually ok. Eggs can handle a cooling down way better than overheating.

What kind of eggs are you hatching? Are either of the therms. calibrated by you against a known thermometer. Either way, the temp is too high unless you are using a still air incubator in which case if the digital therm. is closer to true temp. then you are OK. Calibrate them and then you will know what is going on and wont have to worry anymore.
Digital is generally more accurate. I have one similar to your non digital and it is like 5 or 6 degrees off. The little cheap reptile therm I have is closer than the other but my digital is within 1 degree.
