My temp in the brooder was a steady 95* when we finally figured out the best place for the lamp and changed the 250 Watt brooder bulb for a 100 Watt standard white bulb. Then last night it was warm in the house and outside so we had the back door open. There was gentle breeze, but nothing bad. I seen the temp in the brooder dropping a bit so I closed the door. The temp stayed at 93* and is still there this morning. The chicks seem to be comfortable though. They are not crowding each other like they would if they needed to be warmed up. There are only 4 in the brooder right now, will be adding 4 more later this morning.

So is the 93* degrees okay??

I never gage the temp in the brooder--I go by how the chicks are acting. If they are too hot, they spread out away form the heat source. If they are too cold they will huddle under the heat. So, let your chicks be the guide. And adjust as necessary.
