guys was wondering if I killed my eggs? the temp hit 115 for a few hours before I caught it. have it doing good now coming on at 97.5 and off at 101 do you consider that acceptable?

thanks, Brian

Oh dear.

I'm sorry, if it was 115f for a few hours I don't think it's going to be good news.

What kind of 'bator are you using? What day are the eggs on?

I was told 104f or higher can kill them, just depends how long it was like that. I lost my last 2 batches to a heat wave.

I just hope it hadn't been that hot for that long, if the temp spiked shortly before you saw it it's possible the eggs hadn't heated up that badly.

it was the first day of setting and it was at that for a few hours. and it was a new homemade bator. it's clicking pretty good right now though.

Well if it was the first day of setting you can only see how they go.

You might be lucky and have got away with it, they do take a few hours to get up to temp when they are first set so good luck.
