Temp spike from 100.4 to 102.0 because of lack of humidity?

Could it be from the water in the bator drying up? My temp held steady at 99.8-100.4 for 5 days with no eggs, two days after putting eggs in the temp spiked to 102. Is it due to the water drying up? How long should I let the temp recover after adding water? It was at 94' the last I checked, it hasnt even been an hour since I added more water, also doing a staggerd hatch so I added a dozen eggs as well.

Falling humidity should not cause the box temperature to spike.

Add water and more eggs will definitely take some time for the temperature to readjust.
