If the shells aren't too dark and you have a good candler, you should be able to see veins by day 5, day 7 at the latest...

ok...I will check on Thurs.(day5).
when it's time to stop turning, do I take the eggs out of the egg turner? They need to lay down to hatch, right? I have been reading alot and want to make sure i understand....
also, to get the humidity up on day 18 so I just add more wet socks???

oh and one more question....the temp probe in the water wiggle says 99.5....is that the temp I need to watch or the other temp on the thermometer? I am feeling like a nervous hen!!! LOL

Yep, take the turner out and put the eggs on their sides to hatch so they can get themselves oriented correctly in their shells.

Watch the temp in the waterwriggler. Keep it so it averages 99.5.

I would candling at day 5...you should see veins but if not wait a few days til day 7 or 10 and try again...depends on how dark your eggs are and what kind of device you are using for a candler as to how much you will see....

Day 18 is the day you will stop turning your eggs and take them out of the turner and laying them down in the bator.......also up your humidity to 70 to 75% at that time....more wet socks if needed, just do not open the incubator...try gettting warm water into your socks another way...one of the openings you have is a good way...i just keep a wet sponge beside an opening and use a dropper with warm water ....

Yes, your temp in the wiggler is the one you need to watch ....

my avitar is my new momma chick family...she hatched out a duck and two chicks about two weeks ago. I finally figured out how to get my avitar changed!!!
Aren't they cute? the duckling is almost bigger than Momma....but he still followers her around. His biological parents are not interested in him at all! Too bad....
