Temperature and fertility

Has anyone out there noticed extreme cold affecting fertility? I have found plenty of research about heat, but not cold.

We have been having a *delightful* cold snap here in Ohio (Canada, come get your weather, it's drunk) and none of the eggs I have set in the past 14 days have been fertile, including from pens where I am doing AI. It's getting depressing...

I don't have any studies for you, but the breeders near me would always postpone hatching of any kind until spring (March and onward where I'm at, we always get February snow) cause the eggs weren't fertile. So you're not the only one, although I don't have any particular reason why ^^"

I think I've read where it's the rooster that has slowed down in the winter which produces those infertile eggs.

Did the eggs get too cold in the coop and die? that may be another explanation.

It's been cold, but none of the eggs were frozen.
