temperature/fever

Thank you for the insight. So far his eyes are still normal, and I keep looking at them. That is a fact, that I keep reading that the marek disease is highly contagious, but none of my other birds, even the ones from the same age, or the mom and even all the flock where the mom comes from have any issues....which give me the hope that it's not marek disease!...However, I was supposed to give a guinea fowl to a friend, and I need to find a way to test him before I transfer the guinea...I don't want to bring a potentially carrier into an over flock.
I would not be able to kill my chicken unless they're sick, and I would have to get euthanize by the vet...I know, I need to get a stronger chicken owner...!
Thank you...

wooaaa...it will take me a while to read all that!....Thank you for the link...I already learn several things...glad I've got a cast on my leg right now...I'll be able to read all that! Thank you for the BYC community

What other symptoms does he have right now? What does his poop look like and consistency? Is his comb pale or have any warty like growths on it? Drooling at the mouth? Has he been wormed recently?

His joints are extremely lose...His hocks can go the normal way and the other way ( front)..He started slightly off , and then , he started to lose his balance, and currently he can't walk anymore at all.( all that in 3 weeks) He's pale but always had been this way. When he was growing, we had coccidiosis issues, but the last fecal test a week ago showed no worms. His fecal did look like a dog poop some days ago, and sometimes, completely normal..I think it depends on what I feed him. I know he gets some fevers some times, but normal some other times. He eats like crazy but of course because we help him. He has some burps. Currently he has some tetany crisis on the back legs...I'm going back to the vet tomorrow...but I don't want to put him down, if it's just a growing issue....I love him so much!

No warts on the comb...normal but a little pale comb...really pale around the eyes...unless he gets mads...it becomes really red..He's been on vit and then vit B supplement for other 2 weeks now..Thank for your help!

going to the vet this afternoon. He's been doing some " tetany crisis" on his legs which are very painful. I'm gonna ask the vet to take an xray to check for joints issues and heavy metal...+ some blood work...but I doubt he'll come back with us....However, I need to know what it is, no matter what will be the outcome.

Thank you!

Have you tried a good poultry vitamin supplement? Roosters are prone to being deficient if they refuse to eat too much layer feed.

Botulism can cause similar symptoms and it is possible he ate something he shouldn't have. There are a few flushes you can do to help remove toxins from their bodies....https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/700526/flushes-for-aiding-in-toxin-removal

Keep us posted!!

Hey Twocrows....

my bird is still with us...Is there any difference of action in the flushes treatment?

We took an x rays of the bird...No metal showed up, however it is obvious that his joints are loose. The space in the knees is huge compare to a normal bird. The vet wanted to euthanize him , but my husband wanted to give him another week...I knew his ligaments are too loose as he bends his hocks too forward...The vet still thinks it could be marek disease...even though he doesn't show any symptoms except he can't walk. But with the knees he has, there is no way he can walk!... We took some blood to completely rule out heavy metal toxicity. The rooster is only 4 months old, is there a way he can grow out of this ligamentous laxity?

Thank you!
