temperature in coop

i am finding that my coop doesnt have a cross breeze which makes it quite warm. it is ventilated, but because it is a rock building it can get quite warm. how do i cool it off since fans are a no no for chickens?

I haven't done it, but i have actually read several members here who put a fan in the coop during the summer to keep the chickens cooler at night.

I'm not sure why fans would be a no no for chickens? My chickens had not one, but two fans running last summer. I even put jugs of ice in front of the box fan to blow the cooled air into them.
Fans are used in the commercial houses. Why are they are no no?

Fans would only be a no no in the winter. It would cause a chill in cold weather. The chickens will love you forever if you would provide a fan in this heat. I have a small fan in a window drawing hot air out of the coop. If your worried about it blowing on them turn it around and blow the heat out.

what is the roof structure ? you need to allow air to flow from ground level into the building and out of the roof at the highest point possible. a cupola might help.
