OK I haven't talked about the homemade styrobator lately, since our broody hen has been doing the work and it has been kinda forgotten after all the trouble with temp. swings. So the problem is: The top of the bator is at 99-101*F, which is perfect. But the bottom goes up to 103*F or higher.
I'm not planning on using it anytime soon, but I just want to fix it JUST IN CASE something goes wrong with the broody hen and her eggs, like if we need to put an egg in the bator for some reason. I just want to be ready for any emergencies.
So how do I fix this temp. issue? I had 2 air holes near the bottom, so I added 2 more just above those ones. But it didn't change much at all. The top is still good, it's just the bottom.
*And YES, I do have a fan in there. I tried it with the fan and with it off, but no difference.
Thanks!
