Pakistan Karachi
Hi i live in Pakistan Karachi and i wanted to ask you that the temperature here in summer reaches about 45 C (113 F) and humidity is about 70-90% and my coop is in a closed area where wind hardly makes it so should i be concerned

should i be concerned
Yes.. some folks freeze gallons of water to put in the chickens water to help keep it cool which will cool them. They also put out the frozen jugs so the birds can belly up and sit next to them to cool off. We have put the ice jugs in front of a fan to blow cooler air.. with that high of humidity misters are not an option I would think. Folks also offer a treat of peas, or corn, or meal worm, etc.. frozen inside ice cubes as an enriching and cooling treat.

Maybe look for some of the summer cooling threads on here as there are many.

One of my hens used to stand inside the wading pool.. just cooling her feet was helpful. :)

And I'm SURE you already know the value of shade! Best wishes, keeping cool!

That is too hot for most chickens. You must provide plenty of shade!! Make sure you have water pots that chickens can stand in and fill them at least twice a day with cool water. A fan and ice can help as well. You may loose some chickens in heat like that. I lost a chicken this year during heat of 106 degrees fahrenheit. Feathers are the warmest covering in nature and heat can be a killer. Good Luck :fl

OK ! and i had a chicken which died because of heat too. I had to put him in a room temporarily for two days it was the hottest days of summer and I did not even thought about the heat and the first day it survived but the next day when I went to check it, It was dead
