I need to know what temperture the chicks need now and later on. They are only a few days old.

Hello and Welcome To BYC! In general chicks need it to be 95* the first week in the warmest spot of the brooder and the temp can be lowered by 5* per week after that. 90-95 degrees first week and lower the temp by 5 degrees every 5 to 7 days till 75 degrees

Now if the chicks move towards the heat and huddle raise the temp and if they move away
to sleep lower the heat

Now you know booth ways to measure the temp adjustment
