It's time to let the girls to start some free-ranging. Was thinking about putting up some plastic fencing or netting. What would you use, netting or the snow fencing? I'm thinking the snow fence. What say you?

If I had to choose between the two I'd pick the snow fence. Bird netting/mesh is a definite no. Chickens, wild birds, and squirrels can easily get caught and tangled in the stuff.

correct me if I am wrong, but "ain't no way" a chicken will get thru a snow fence

How about baby chickens, the ones we call chicks?

I haven't had any birds get stuck in our netting. Our local squirrels are ground squirrels and are treated as pests as if they are mice or rats. We have a few but between hawks, coyotes, snakes and the occasional Bobcat the squirrels are not a big problem.
BTW we are at 6500 ft/ 1676 m.
