Temporary housing question

Well hubby still hasn't had time to finish the coop

and now on Sunday morning he leaves for a week. The babies are getting crowded in the brooder, For the run I still need to get predator covering up but once I have that up I was thinking at least for the daytime could I put them in the run with an old dog house as shelter for them or is this a bad idea? I just want to give them more room. TIA OH they are 5 and 6 weeks old

Ya I would do it. As long as they come in at night they should be fine.

That sounds like a good idea. Will you be around during the day to keep an eye on them?

I kept mine in a 6 foot kiddie pool for a few weeks. I did wrap taller cardboard around it so they couldn't fly out. They were in the garage with that by the way... not outside. The dog house would be pitch dark and stuffy inside if you closed it unless you put some sort of light in there.

A bathtub would work. Or if you have a tiny spare powder room or something.

PS Maybe you can get a few extra large boxes from stores. Divide them up in several boxes so they have some room. When you take them outside. place a screen or large sheer scarf over each box so they don't get loose.

I may just talk hubby into another extra larger rubbermaid storage container tonight since we have to go to walmart anyway. hmmmmm I just don't know what to do I took my 4 largest girls out and put them into a smaller brooder for now but even at that the big one is a bit cramped

and I have batch 1 from the bator due to hatch this next week

I know I will figure something out just don't know what yet

OK I didnt realize the run was completely finished.
If it is finished and you want them outside, that would work.
