temps are getting cold and turkey is broody

Well, just to make both broody' happy, I put turkey eggs under the BO hen too. Got pecked on the back of the hand however and drew blood. Ouch. But at least now I have 2 broodies to keep each other company. I guess I'm gonna do the crazy thing and let them hatch in late fall.

My BR turkey hens get the prize for most egg-laying EVER. started last March and NEVER stopped. As soon as they hatched a bunch they'd start laying about 3 weeks later. It's been nuts around here!

Luckily with all the experience of turkey (and chick) hatchings, I've learned a ton, and am a much more relaxed 'mom' than i was this spring, when it was the first time I'd had any hatches.
