Temps won't stay stable

The house is 72. One time they will be ok the next they aren't. I know my electronic dosen't work. I am just using my waffer. Could it be bad. Will one of the waffers out of a gqf styrophome bator work

I would get the thermometer/hygrometer kit at Petco. They are fantastically accurate.
