Hello, has anyone else had this issue?

I am having to frequently refill the water on my nurture right 360. I can't seem to be able to get it to hold humidity. I am concerned because at night time, while I'm asleep, the humidity will drop all the way down to 24%. The eggs still developed and are hatching now, but I'm just not able to get it up the 60-70% that's needed. It will not stay stable at all. I've not had the eggs show any more progress for the last few hours, and I'm getting worried. I have even been having to cover the incubator with a towel to try to lock heat and humidity in. Fortunately the temp stays stable as long as the towel is over it. I plug the places where you pour water, and the humidity slider window thing (pardon me not knowing what to call it) is no more than a 1/3rd of the way open. I don't remember having this issue last year. Should I be plugging the hole at the top of the incubator too? I'm worried about lack of oxygen. I usually use broody hens so this is a bit of a learning curve for me.

Thank you.

You can close the vent so there's just a crack there.

I used one and found filling both of the ports full, then covering with their red plugs would last about 8-10 hours at 60-70%. I aimed to 70 and barely ever got there, but it was still fine.

Once one hatches, it raises up and stays up much better too.

I’m actually having the opposite problem with the humidity. What’s your ambient temp and humidity?

It always ends up back down at 24-25% humidity so I’m assuming that’s the ambient humidity for the room. Not sure what the temperature is but the incubator temperature stays stable at 100 f

This is the little hole that I’m worried might be letting out too much humidity out. Is it supposed to be just open like this or am I missing a part?

Get you a little hygrometer, I’ve been in contact with their customer support for the past week. They’re having me do a five day test where I record the temp and humidity 2x day. I’ve thought about just returning it bc I don’t like the way the lid is hard to sit, especially when I need to be quick and those two wires, one seems to get caught in lid every time. I ordered one from Amazon but then read not to buy cheap from china so I cancelled and went to tractor supply and paid double for this one to see Made in China on the parts 🤪🥴
I am calibrating the hygrometer according to instructions I found on this site. I have seen where people said their humidity wasn’t reading correctly. Curious to how this works out for you. Have you contacted the company?

View attachment 4080203Our solution ended up being to put a Tupperware tub over the incubator with the bottom elevated to let air in. Worked great and all four babies hatched sincerely!
Thanks for these tips. We had kept a blanket under the incubator and it was easy to keep the humidity up but maybe it stopped airflow as none hatched. We kept the vent wide open the whole time. A blanket was around the sides some of the time but never over the vents. Only one got to the point where it needed to breath unless they are breathing at just a few days in. I had blamed the problem on the eggs being ruined during shipping. I kept the vent wide open the whole time and we used a 50cc syringe to load the water and use one water outlet the first 17 days and both the last 3 days - like the instructions say.

Did yours come with two red plugs? I only found one on ours but husband opened the box originally.
