I just put 16 rir eggs in the bator on the 26 and I just caught it now when wathcing tv that the side was open from when i put in some water...The temp was at 96-98 range will this affect the eggs at all??

Thanks,
RIRs

They need ventilation. If you keep the temp close to 99 you'll be fine.

Momentary fluctuations down mimic the hen getting off the nest each day to eat and poop

Eggs can handle a few temp changes. Everything should be fine. Good luck.

Be aware they might be delayed due to the lower temp but they should be fine.. just add a couple extra days if they don't hatch "on time"

I always add 3 extra days from due date anyhow just in case. So for a known low temp time I would incubate 5 days after due date just to be safe. Then candle (or float test if can not candle) to check for any really late survivors.
