The weather is bad all over today the mid west and south. Did anybody else have to run across the yard in muck boots with eggs in your pocket trying not to get struck by lightning?

Yeah me too.

Nope. Days like this I pretty much just leave them alone. I'll get eggs the next day.

It doesn't matter what the weather is. I open the coop, I close the coop. I try to go out at least 2-3 more times during the day to gather eggs and say hello to the ladies.

I have calf high coop boots. My upper body is covered with 2-3 layers as the temperature dictates, with a windbreaker over it all. My gloves have cheap liners for additional warmth when needed.
