Who has the coop on 82 by the store? I'd like to see the insides of some coops before I start converting mine. The better half wants to know what brreds have the best tastin eggs? I figure we get a couple diff breeds and do some taste testing.

For those here in Tn there is a TN poultry group on Yahoo groups.

I personally will be ordering from Myers as they are located in Ohio and have great prices for qty. Many people on the group are taking orders now for hatchings or eggs. So check it out.

Hello,
There is a auction on the first saturday and a buy/sell/trade on the first monday morning of the month in Morristown. I haven't made it there yet but I will in March. I also found a great little get together in Sweetwater on the first and third saturday of the month. I sold alot of my extras and found some really nice chickens there.
Tell them to let me know what they want and I can probably find it.

jmc_123,

What day and month is the First Monday sale in Morristown? I have been to the saturday action but not the first Monday sale for I could never get a true date on it.

BTW I forgot to mention there are 2 other yahoo groups that may be of interest to those in TN. One is the TN homesteaders and the other the East Tn homestead farmers. Both of these group have poultry breeders that are not on the poultry list since most deal with heritage breeds for food not pets. One does not have to be have alot of land or animals to join these list. We have folks with just house property to those that just have goats or chickens only. If you put a post out on these list you will find many owner/breeders there. HTH

I went there last saturday and there was @ 25 people there. I sold or traded just about all my extras. And came home with some OEG Duckwings, BB Reds, Spangled, a Porcelain and some Black Rosecomb.

It is on the first Monday of each month. It starts at O-Dark-30. I was told to get there with flashlights and find a spot. Otherwise, I might end up on the street. It's $6 to sell and $12 if you take a trailer. The sale for example was this past Monday. Hope this helps.

Cool! So it's still where the petshop used to be?
What time did people get there?

Where are you getting them from?
Any breeds in particular?

I'll be hatching some Blue Orpingtons & some Blue & Black Ameracauna's late March. I know I won't be able to keep many of them...

Sorry I did not catch all of this. Right now I am looking at american heritage breeds. I have a few I am interested in and have settled mostly for partridge rocks.

Are your Ameracauna's pure bred? Not the EE. If so I would be interested in some as I am looking into breeding to standard.
