While watching some youtube videos about chicken predators, I saw a video clip of a bobcat pushing the bottom of the fence. There was enough slack in the fence that the bobcat was able to go under the fence and into the yard.

I was thinking, what about putting a couple of high tension cables cay 6 inches off the ground, and another one about a foot off the ground. Then use some kind of metal clap to bind the tension wire and fence together?

Not that the clamp on the tension wire would be tight, just something to keep the tension cable and fence as one.

The local Lowes store sells cable by the foot. I think they sell 3/16 cable and maybe 1/4 inch galvanized cable? It would be something where a coyote of bobcat could not push the bottom of the fence as it would be pushing on the high tension cable that has been pulled tight with a come-along.

We use heavy horse fencing that doesn't bend easily when stretched tight, but my thinking is that if they can't go under they will go over. We use a hot wire around the outside of the fence about 6 inches off the ground and one just above the top of the fenceline. It has worked very well.
