^^^^^Test Egg day 21!!!!IT HATCHED!!!!!!!!!!^^^^^NEW PICS!!!

whats that thing on her back? does she have a black spot or a red spot? she is cute. Careful she dont eat that stuff. One of my birds likes to eat that stuff. I heard they can get constipated but it never happened to any of my birds.

Either RIR or sexlink double cross so a mixed breed. Oh and I told you to put the shavings in but I just remebered that their is a risk of them eating the shaving so you could just put paper towl over top for the first few days.

good luck

No, RIR would not be white. That chick is not RIR. Not sure what it is...hard to tell by the pics. Can you tell us what kind of comb it has and what color is it's skin (legs/beak)? That may help to figure out breed.

its comb looks like it goes to the side...its legs are an orange color....very weird looking lol

Considering the source of the egg, I'm gonna guess it's a sex-link cross (aka: mutt).

I would definitely cover those shavings with something the chick's toenails won't tear apart. As he starts to perk up he'll be awake a lot more, and will start doing what chicks do -- pecking at what's under his feet. The shavings can easily get stuck in his crop and cause serious (even fatal) problems. If you can't get to WalMart, Target, Home Depot, Lowe's, Office Depot, or any other of the numerous stores that sell the spongy shelf liner stuff, ask your mom if you can use a hand towel, kitchen towel or something (that isn't paper) to cover the shavings.

I'm recommending it not be paper because the chick's toenails will quickly tear paper, making the scratching behavior even more fun and soon you have paper that he can swallow along with the shavings.
