Tried a used Genesis Hovabater with 20 eggs from my flock and had 11 hatch on day 22 and 23, temp varied from 98.7 to 99.3, 3 Easter Eggers and 8 Lavender orpingtons, the Lavs eggs came from 7 month old pullets so was happy with the results, i will be setting 42 Lavender eggs on Tuesday, hoping for good results!! Will be using a new Hovabator 1588 i just received.
I certainly wish you luck. I strongly suggest you calibrate your thermometer. I have one of the old model 1588’s with those dip switches for adjusting temperatures. The new ones are a lot easier to adjust, a huge improvement. But the factory preset was a little high on mine, about a degree and a half. I always recommend to never trust any thermometer until it has been calibrated and never trust any of the factory presets. I lie this method of calibrating a thermometer. I have the same incubator.......started my second hatch of eggs. I think its a great incubator.....just keep an eye on the humidity ....... Cheers!
