Good afternoon

I hope someone can have some advice.

I am new to the chicken world, and I am in the process of possibly testing for Mareks disease within my flock. If by chance my babies test positive what do I do? Is there a cure or a method to stop it, what do I do re: the coop ect?

If have any suggestions or advice please let me know

How old are the chicks and what symptoms are you seeing that makes you think that some have Mareks? Normally, Mareks testing is done after death during a necropsy by the state poultry lab. There are a few labs around the country though, that will test some blood serum and do a pcr test for Mareks. Here is a link that shows where to contact them and discuss the $20 test and how to go about getting it:

Good Morning
Thank you for reaching out. Well I had a couple of juvenile chicks that have went limp almost like paralysis and died. I didnt know if it is due to our colder temperatures or the or something within my feeding system. I researched Mareks and found that some of the symptoms are very close in what I am experiencing.

My chickens are on an organic diet, I grow my own fodder for them, and provide plenty of outdoor time and foliage for them. It is just really scary as I dont know why this happening, or if it is that, what should I do re: my other chickens.
