Hello everyone!

I've been lurking on this site for over a year and I've been so envious of those who are raising their own poultry. We live in a city with strict ordinances so I've been living vicariously through all of you :)

Now, though, we are one house sale away from realizing our dream of moving to the country! Looking forward to learning from and networking with the many pros here!

Alright all lurkers welcome to the BYC community

Welcome to BYC!

So glad you could join our flock! Lots of us lurked on here before joining. I myself lurked for nearly a year before finally signing up, and I'm so glad that I finally did! I hope you can get some chickens soon. I was lucky enough that my town allows chickens- I can't imagine how dissapointing it might be to not be able to keep them.

Good luck with your (hopefully) future flock! Welcome to our community.

I'm glad you joined our "flock!"

I'm sorry you can't raise chickens right now. It really is a wonderful experience! Hopefully, you can raise some in the future.

Hope you will update when you move, and let us know what chickens you have gotten. In the interim Silkies and seramas make excellent house chickens. Just sayin'. There is a great thread called " People with House chickens." Some of the bantam breeds look like little parrots and silkies don't even look like birds. From a distance - they look like little furry foo foo dogs.
