Also forgot to ask you about what is that in your poop board? I'm trying to find easy cleaning.

You could also have sand on the floor of your coop and just scoop it off of the floor if that would be more convenient for you!

another update:
Decided to add ventilation to the three sides of plywoood as it was really stuffy, so I figured it couldn’t hurt. what do y’all think?
- also some side pictures of my Cayuga, Easter eggger, welsummer, and etc eggs.

I'll be having a good look at that. Your coop build here is a large part of the inspiration for my current coop build.

I keep posting updates in hopes that I can help others! I messed up pretty badly with my first coop years ago, so I wanted to put these new ideas out there so people can use them!! I’m glad to hear that you like it, and good luck in your build!!

I wanted to post my coop in case anyone else is looking for a hot weather coop design! The coop/open run is 280 sq ft, with an added mobile extension coming later on to give the chickens access to fresh grass and bugs. Here it goes! This is wonderful...sure makes the whole "build" process easier (especially if you can't really build a box How did your girls do with this past winter, where it got so cold in Texas...I'm in Ca and our weather is similar...hot as heck in the summer and some freezing nights in the winter...
