Does anyone have tips on dealing with the heat? We have lost 3 of 6 chickens in the past month due to the heat. We have opened up the coop at night to help with airflow and they always have water available. These are all Golden Comet chickens just under a year old. Thanks!

Put box fans in the pens. Also standup or mounted fan inside each coop. The fan inside the coop must blow air out a vent. Indirect airflow will enter through the other vents.

I've once had to erect a canopy for shade with indoor and outdoor box fans. Adding frozen block of ice to their water helps. Checking on them often for signs of heat exhaustion so you can cool them down. Definitely keep a fan in the coop though, pulling air in. It makes a big difference! If texas is low in humidity you can look into building a simple cheap swamp cooler too. That doesn't work with high humidity though.
