Hello there and welcome to BYC!

We do have a Texas thread if you want to chat with your chicken neighbors about things...https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/44/texas

Make yourself at home here and if you have any questions about anything your neighbors can't help you with, feel free to ask around the forums. Welcome to our flock!

I would imagine there are loads of chicken folks in the Ft.Worth/Dallas area. Once you are settled you can post photos of your chicks, at "what breed or gender is this?"

Welcome to BYC, glad you joined the flock.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided join our flock. My wife and I were both raised in the great state of Texas, not far from where you are (Blue Ridge for her, Greenville for me). If you would like your chicken breeds identified, just post some pics of them on our What Breed or Gender is This? section at https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/15/what-breed-or-gender-is-this and let our experts there take a look at them for you. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your flock.
