Has anyone used TVP to feed their chickens? I ran out of oatmeal and used it for a few days and the egg production went from 4 to 10. Now I understand that TVP has at least 50% protein.

Is this going to be harmful the the girls?

Anyone else give this to their girls?

If the TVP (soy) is roasted soy, then it is very good for the chickens and that is a main component of commercial chicken feeds.

If it is unroasted then it would need to be roasted before serving it to chickens, or it is toxic.

By roasted, do you mean just cooked. Can it be boiled or toasted dry in the oven? Should it be rehydrated first?

We have been using this to improve egg production when needed. What we have been doing is toasting it on a cookie sheet. Sure smells good when roasting, lol.
