Late last night I was walking from my kitchen to the living room and saw a car driving past my house "jump" about 2 feet into the air, and keep going. Hmmm, that was a little odd. I looked out the window to see if I could see anything- Nope nothing. So i went into the den and looked from another angle- a dark shape in the road. Too small to be a body, but fairly substantial none the less. So I had to go out to check. As i walked out my next door neighbor came out saying "Did something happen?". We looked and realized that the car had veered off the road into my lawn then into the large rocks edging the flower bed. It's a large rock about 2 ft in diameter. It was moved several inches. Some of the smaller ones were several feet away. Then Jim (neighbor) started finding broken pieces of car in the street and my driveway. There was no damage to the rock.

Jim & I got a good laugh. If the rock wasn't there my car & truck were in the line of fire next, and following them was the telephone pole. Good Good rock.

Imp- I gave the rock some extra gravel so it can even get bigger and protect me better next time.

BTW- When I went out this morning to put the moved rocks back into place one of the smaller ones was missing. Must have gotten stuck on the car and went to a new home. LOL! I WANT MY ROCK BACK.

Wow....rocks are good...Guess that's why one BYC'er has a Yard Full O Rocks...or is that the chicken?

No soreness just a few scratches. It a tough old rock.

I agree! Rocks are great!! (I am a geologist

). Seriously though, that is awesome that the rock stopped the car from hitting your truck.

What caused him to veer off the road to begin with? I am assuming the driver was alright, but he/she must have hit it hard to cause that much damage (maybe i am underestimating the power of your rock

).

Glad your rock will be ok. I've got big ones at the edges of my drive too.

I love rocks too, esp fossils. One of my vendors always brings me a fossil rock when he comes in for service calls.
