this is my second hatch and I like doing things the hard way lol I had collected blue eggs, I only get 2 a day currently and was wanting to do one more hatch- one wasn't enough! Then I bough some lavender guineas and to my surprise they are laying! So I snagged up a few eggs and set them all because I didn't want to lose my stash of blue eggs. I rigged an old cooler for a hatchet and ordered another hydrometer and a ceramic heat lamp. It was due to arrive Saturday- lockdown is today, Sunday. No delivery... I checked the status and supposedly the post came here and couldn't deliver because no one was home.... all day I paced awaiting the mail! So now I'm in a pickle even more so because of the holiday the Walmart here carries groceries and college student stuff- no hydrometer. Honestly we have the worst post office in the nation and I don't know why I'm even surprised they screwed me. I had hoped to order eggs next year once I got my method down but looks grim. Oh yeah and this weather!! 54*F suddenly- I know I am taking a chance hatching "late" but good grief I wanted the benefit of doubt ((((

I have sooo many I hate the post office/ delivery people stories. When I ordered my chicks this spring I was worried about their condition b/c it was super cold so I called ahead and told them to call me as soon as they come. Time doesn't matter, I'll be there to get them.. I get a text at 4:30 am saying they arrived at the post office. I sit there for 3 hours waiting for someone to call me to come get them.. a few were 1/2 dead and I still believe if they had called me 3 hours sooner that more may have survived. AND there was a note on the box that said to call me asap. SMH

Ugh!!!! I wanted to order chicks all year, had them all picked out several times and ready to checkout but I couldn't do it! Our mailman asked me one day if I needed Energy???! Like um no? Come to find out he sells meth! And they won't fire him because of who his daddy is! I've never had to deal with such crap since I moved up here

Holy crap. WTF is wrong w/ people? Can you have them delivered to someone else's home (different post office) so you don't have that carrier anymore? Absolutely ridiculous. Postal Carrier is a fed job. I bet there's someone you can report him to that's above your local post master.. maybe suggest a drug screening. Ugh.. I hate when people get away w/ crap that any normal person would be strung up for. (sorry for the rant.. spent too much time on Twitter this am.)

It's ok my op was a total rant! He hardly picks up the mail too. I've called and went in several times over the last 2 years to complain. More recently I was in the coop which is right next to a dead end road that splits our farm. I've got a German shepherd that I tied momentarily while I was in the coop and right as I walked out this same mail man was swerving off road to hit my dog! He had this smile that very quickly disappeared as I walked out- I was furious! I found out I can call a regional post person and that they do investigations but I never did. He's the kind of man to burn your house down while everyone's asleep so I'm just waiting for it to catch up to him. Pretty sad but this small town life is ROUGH!

I've called and went in several times over the last 2 years to complain.

I hate the pony express as much as anyone, but it's better than having to pick it up myself and drive across country.

I used to have a super great mail lady, but then we got a new one and either she's rushing or she's illiterate. I live in an apt building w/ 12 apts split between 3 floors. I'm constantly getting mail for the apt on the 3rd floor, I'm on the 1st floor. Then she does this adorable thing where she swaps the mail between my building and the one across the way. Then we all put our mail up saying it's the wrong building. I have to check the 'out going' box every day b/c that's where the misdelivered mail goes. She put my child support renewal paperwork to the wrong mailbox and I had to get a letter from my landlord to prove that I lived there b/c the letter was returned and they didn't believe I lived there. I've complained several times and she'd do ok for a little bit, then start screwing up again. I also work for a library on her route and we get other people's magazines b/c she just gives us the whole bundle instead of looking at it.
It's not as bad as the fedex guy who likes to hold packages hostage, but annoying as hell b/c you have no idea if you're missing something important.

Our postman doesn't leave the little pink notes saying attempted to deliver please pick up so I actually had a box sit there for 7 days and then they mailed it back to the sender! I had no idea it had even got to the post office. It was just a couple days after I checked the status on amazon to see it had been "delivered"....
