I have been around chickens since I began to walk with the family rooster chasing me as a tot and kicking me as I tried running away. He seemed the same size as I was back then. Needless to say that chase down ended with the family having Mole for that evenings meal. I have many stories but I love the crowing of roosters in the morning and throughout the day. The hens announcing they want to lay the days eggs and the chirping of tiny chicks is a pure delight. Being in a group of other fowl lovers will be very welcomed to me. I once was gifted a large rooster that was so huge it totally overwhelmed me in his size. I enjoy any and all breeds. Recently the oriental types have taken a place in my heart. It was recommended that I continue to enjoy fowl as part of my therapy.

So glad you decided to join us. I too was chased by the family rooster as a kid. Funny how these events lead us later in life to keep chickens? I've heard many others tell a similar story.
