I wouldn't normally make a post just to say hello, but it seems as though an introduction is in order!

Hi
frow.gif
I'm Sweet'N'Sour,in both name and attitude :) not really I just thought it was a cute name. I live in the shenandoah valley of Virginia at the base of the blue ridge mountains. Right now I have 3 partridge Cochin hens, 8 chicks and 3 more on the way, because I don't have the heart to break them without at least letting them hatch once. I love my chickens and keep them as pets, but the eggs are a nice bonus.

My love of chickens all started with one precious sweet little, BCM OE rooster, RooPaul Followed by two other amazing Porcelain D'uccle brothers, Jinkx and Chad, I got shortly after. All of whom I've sadly lost

Roo to CRD, which broke my heart, I now realize was sick when I got him. I lost the first of the brothers Jinkx, to what I believe to have been a raccoon he protected Chad from. When Chad who had been through so much, respiratory infection, frostbite, broken toe, predator attack, just to name a few lost his brother I got him 3 bantum partridge Cochin hens, Popcorn, Sugar and Butternut. He was so happy and such a great rooster to them. Sadly he passed away recently from what I assume was a heart attack or possibly gnats, I found him in the pen by the water with no signs of anything that could have happened. So now I have 3 hens and 8, 3 week old babies, with 3 more on the way:th

I want to thank everyone for all the help I've already gotten from reading the amazing articles and informative answers in the threads that have helped me so much everytime something has popped up. I'm so excited to finally have joined, thanks for having us:jumpy:jumpy:jumpy

Welcome to the flock. Are you near Waynesboro? Or Greenwood or Afton? I’m just curious because I used to live in that general area!

Yes, Stacy, I am very close to those places! I live in Schuyler, near the blue ridge parkway. It's close to Scottsville, pretty much between c'ville and Waynesboro. In the middle of nowhere, it's where the Walton's lived
