Moved out to the country a couple years ago with my husband ,horses , dogs and just recently chickens .
OMG CHICKEN MATH IS REAL !!! So husband and I agreed on 4-6 hens ,no roos. A couple turned out to be roo's so then I ordered specifically pullets from a breeder because the feed store was too much of a gamble . So I order enough for like an even ten good layers and somehow things spun out of control and now I have eighteen birds LOL There was a random grab in there somewhere because the feed store had some white crested blue polish that I couldn't find anywhere but had already grabbed a buff polish so a couple of those went in and a silkie because why not he's super cuddley btw .....Anyway lol not only did I somehow manage to get way more birds I was just content to have a flock for laying but I've also got a couple of really nice breeding pairs lol Polish & Lavender Orphington's lol .
My name is Breezy and I have a problem with chicken math .

Actually I find your chicken math skills to be very high:thumbsup especially for a chicken newbie. Welcome to the ranks of Backyard chicken membership, I have every confidence in you.

By all means let your breeders go forth & multiply

Including your general location on your profile will assist others. Location, climate, season etc can be important factors when members are responding to any questions you may have and vice versa.
