Thank You, You Turkeys!

No turkey today, instead I cooked a Muscovy duck for our dinner celebration. Yum! The duck was from a local farm, free range. Our tom is safe in his roosting tree tonight.

Oh yes, we need to include all the animals who have fed us so well today.

Even the lobsters that gave their lives for Buff Hooligans! (I'd be even more grateful if I had one..... )

One of these days I'll learn how to process these feathered ones, and I'll raise my own, well fed, well loved and looked after turkeys for thanksgiving!

I had to cut it apart and put it back in the oven!

So I am not the only one to have trouble with the "Big Bird" today!

I have made a decision: To take the local grocery store up on those precooked Turkey deals they offer from now on & just add a few "extras" myself.

That may be more my "style!"

A disastrous turkey! I think my oven isn't getting hot enough, my oven thermometer broke and I haven't replaced it. The oven was out of propane last week and I suspect there is air somewhere in the line. LOL, good thing we didn't have guests, they'd be getting turkey omelets for breakfast!

The stuffing was good, the gravy turned out well, except for a slightly heavy hand with the applejack brandy,

sweet potatoes were their usual delicious selves!

Hope everyone had a wonderful feast and said thanks for it- and all the leftovers!

Ranchy, sending one to you right now!

I had a real big one that was delicious, but at some point I think my DH hypnotized me and stole the whole tail.
Or maybe it was the Real Butter Ecstacy that distracted me...
