My husband and I recently acquired 5 baby chickens. I have to tell you the only reason is because we read the book "COOP", by Michael Perry. It really put "chickens" in a whole new light for us. Every since, we have acquired 5 Bantam (mix) chickens. We have built a coop, ( a mighty cool one) and we have used this website to guide us through the process of "raising chicks". FYI- They are eleven (11) weeks old and we still do not know which one(s) is a hen or a rooster. ........(any guidance?!?!?) We would like to add a Silikie and a Americana ( you know, the ones that lay the colored eggs......) Thanks for all the help and we will follow up with some pictures......

My girls are just a bit older than yours - - 12 - 13 weeks. When you add pics, put it in the topic line so the more experienced than me can distinguish them. Also, have a look in the learning centre for distinguishing features...you never know.
