Hello everybody!
My name is Mitch and I am very excited about finally registering an account with back yard chickens.
I have perused the threads for a few years now and have finally decided to join in on the conversations properly.
I currently live on the south east coast
My partner and I keep a small flock of chickens and two ducks, with one lovely guardian dog called Vinnie whom is a best friend to my self and the other animals.
We have two miniature silver Appleyard ducks, Tom and Daphne.
Two laying hens; black copper maran cross legbar (olive Eggers)
Two pullets; black copper maran X legbar X Australorp
And a beautiful breeding pair of bantam old English game black breasted red that are show birds; buddy the rooster who does an amazing job looking after everyone and Lilly.
Currently have 5 chicks in the brooder, 3 are from the oeg pair and 2 are from the oeg rooster and maran X legbar (very excited for this mix to join the gang)
We love to breed mix's that are friendly and good for families although it's just a hobby and all for love, we don't run a particularly tight ship with breeds and its not much more than a handful of chicks every now and then that we incubate.
I absolutely love oeg birds and travel to shows to see them regularly.
I haven't gotten the confidence to show my birds personally yet but am working up the courage.
