Hi! I was a country girl then a city girl, then a burb girl and now back to a Country Girl. I started last year with a flock of Barred Rocks, Rhode Island Reds and a few Rhode Island Whites. They have done great and I added some mixed Buff Orpingtons and Barred Rock/Ameracauna mixes a couple weeks ago and let me tell you now I'M HOOKED!
I have started ordering and hatching Silkies, Cochins (Various), MORE Barred Rocks, Del Giants, Splash Marans, Blue Marans, Blue Andalusians, Nankins, Silver Phoenix and several other rare breeds. I can't believe HOW CUTE these babies are. I have additional eggs on order for shipping and anyone that has information on Black Sumatra's, Cubalayas, Salmon Faverolles and many other breeds please feel free to help me with them and any suggestions! I am planning on adding additional ALBC ducks and geese to my "family" (Along with my 2 St Bernards, a Golden Retriever -ancient, cows, pigs and the OTHER chickies! that I already have).
Long email but I just wanted to introduce myself - have had some good luck with my three incubators but have had some bad luck too. I was out of town and the incubators dried out for a day and I lost about fifteen babies. I have many others that are doing okay but some came to me too cold - that's the problem with living in Upstate NY, you never know how cold it might get.
Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself, I've been on the Site since this past Summer but have never done much emailing.
