thanksgiving questions...

sweet... is that nation wide? and can i get a kindle there?

Let me see, I'm certain the Supercenters are open on Thanksgiving, Walgreens (the 24 hour stores are open year-round, including Christmas) but I"m not sure about the Neighborhood Markets (which wouldn't have the Kindle anyway...)

Let me see...I know we sell the Apple Ipad, let me look about the Kindle.

ETA: No, looks like Kindles can only be bought on Amazon.com.

best buy has the kindle

I don't think Walmart has the kindle. You can order from Amazon, can't you? We just bought the Nextbook off HSN. We have had it out playing with it but it is a gift for my DGD. Wifi, surf the net, music and ereader.

We think it is going to be good. I is kind of like an Ipad.

Wal-Mart is open all day Thanksgiving. So is Walgreens.

Used to be all the stores were closed on Thanksgiveing. No more. About the only ones closed are locally owned mom & pop stores.

They were that way after Halloween...

This is gonna get me shot, but this is the time of year you MUST get thick-skinned. People will scream at you...I call this the "Pissy" Time of Year.

Everyone is in such a rush that they forget to enjoy their time and take it easy...if you get a chance, sit down and people watch in the local mall or grocery store. It's amazing the interactions that take place.

From Black Friday to Jan 2, the only stores I will voluntarily step into are

Price Chopper - cause the one in my neighborhood isn't too insane (it just doesn't have enough checkout lanes)
a couple of local specialty (ethnic) grocery stores
thrift shops (hey a gal's GOT to shop...)
Home Depot
and TSC / Orscheln's / Feed Mill

If the world is ending and I can't avoid it then I will go to Kmart, not Walmart, because the traffic around Walmart is god-awful, while Kmart is not (I despise Kmart, though. I'd rather use a squat toilet than shop at Kmart...)

Edited to add: I'll go to CVS if I need meds & Dollar General if I need something they carry and it lets me out of going to Kmart. Did I mention that I hate Kmart?

While you are south of the border you should enjoy a feast.

I am perfectly content to stay out of any store, except for the grocery store until sometime in January. What I don't get is why some people only seem to eat during the holidays? There seems to be a much larger group that shops for food at this time of year. Personally I like to eat year around.
