I am so close to ordering 15 guineas from Meyer Hatchery! And I am gonna blame it on you folks here!
Do you think they will be ok with my 5 turkeys? I can keep them in a brooder area and then let them be in the turkey house/pen when they are older.
What do you think? Or any suggestions for me?
They would actually be the first type of poultry that would have free-range. That is scary to me! I keep everything inside a fence!
No I don't have close neighbors. My dogs bark up a storm, no problems! Hee hee, maybe the guineas would keep the land next to us from selling.

GET THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you have the room and do not have close neighbors because they are watchbirds I would go for it! As long as you have read up on them becuase they are certainly not chickens. I love my three.

Just wanted to let you know the 3 silkie chicks I picked up seem healthy and happy. I don't know if they hatch anything else where I got the silkies or not, they have two locations.

thanks, Sara. I think I will order from Meyer Hatchery. I can get an assortment of colors. JM Hatchery only has the pearl.
I like to see lots of color.

guineas RULE!! I have 10 of various ages outside now. I also have 35 eggs in the bator from 2 different people. I SOOOOOO hope I have a good hatch. You will also have a ton of people who would love to get eggs from you next year!! (me included)

They run around and around my property every day eating bugs. THey also run the edges of the corn field and eat too. They always come back to roost at night. I cant wait for eggs next year. With the 6 older birds I think I have 4 hens and 2 males. I also have about 4 or 5 colors. Get them for sure!!! Good luck Jenn
