That's it! I'm officially worried!!

Congratulations! Or should I say cheers!

Don't be quick to remove that chick from the incubator. I have seen first out encourage and help others. It should be fine in there for 24 hours, at the least.

Now the fun begins!

Nothing from egg 3 as yet but egg 1 was moving quite vigorously earlier.

The good news is that Lucky was born at 5pm today (UK time) after a struggle. She's chirping away in the incubator now.

Awesome. She looks like a good size chick too!

HELP.

Because one of the other eggs pipped then nothing happened I decided to have a sneaky peek with the candler. I picked the egg up, so carefully, or so I thought, and BROKE THE SHELL! What an idiot!!!! The egg is in a separate, pre-warmed incubator and the chick is alive and breathing. There was some blood from the broken membrane but I suspect it's worse than it looks. Do you think that the poor thing has any chance? Should I leave it alone and cross my fingers?

If it is chirping, and still alive it is likely fine. Nearly everyone who has hatched chicks has had the horror of breaking an egg with a live chick. You sure are giving yourself and education. :) Congrats on the new chicks!

Would it be easy to get a picture of the broken egg?

I got impatient and helped crack a couple of mine open. They were fine. You just can't do it too soon...and if you are on day 23 then I wouldn't think it was possible for it to be too soon.
