oh, that is so amazing. i was almost in tears reading that. you did the right thing, in every sense. you just saved those 44 chickens and now they will finally have a good life, no matter how short or how long, they will get a sense of a good life. congrats. say hi to them for me and good luck. tell them to get in good shape fast and start having fun. good thing there are people like you. i hope they all do good.

I always say this, but anyone who has relatives or co-workers that only will eat "factory" eggs... Show them this picture!

I hate to think that the chickens that laid the eggs I buy are in such horrible conditions. I tried to buy eggs locally, but they're all "subscription." You pre-pay and go pick up the eggs each month. I'm going to be moving and can't do that. ARG.

I have heard that rescued animals know when they've rescued and will usually act appreciative. I have seen it in dogs and cats behavior...I am sure chickens are them same. You're their hero!
