Welcome!I have not done a hatch along and would love to join. I am still learning to navigate this page so hopefully I can keep up. I have chicken and emu eggs.
The Bresse and the Marans will eat a lot of feed! The Bresse are very good egg layers and very tasty thoughI will be hatching Black Copper Marans, Lavender Ameracaunas, Olive Eggers, and hopefully some American Bresse!
Thank youWelcome!
I can't wait!View attachment 1712617 You will have a lot of fun here!
This is a perfect example of chicken math! Advanced at that!I was a bit late but I set 19 duck eggs. Some are over 10 days old but I really wanted to put in as many as possible.
Got a strange story for you all. I came home from picking up turkey poults and was setting them up in the barn. The chicks in the coop were being loud so I look over and see something bright yellow. Found an intruder.

I have a neighbor that I know has peacocks (have heard them) so I decided to go over and see if he was missing a bird. Turns out it is his but he just lets it roam. So I asked if he just wanted me to let it go. He said sure or “you can keep it if you want.”Now I have to make a decision. I’d feel bad letting him out to fend for himself but to keep him I’d need to find a female. He is beautiful so I’d love to keep him. I went ahead and put him in my quail run for now (they are in the barn because they got snowed out last week). Should say the neighbor was super nice and this bird seems to be in great shape so I don’t think it’s been neglected.
It would be close depending on how accurate the thermometer is. 104 is lethal.Well the temp in my incubator went up to 103 last night, oops. Do you guys think that would kill the duck eggs?
