Should I try to put up a half wall divide kind of thing in the incubator since they'd be hatching around the same time and are such different sizes?
I have not done a hatch along and would love to join. I am still learning to navigate this page so hopefully I can keep up. I have chicken and emu eggs.
I hatched only 4 chicks from my first attempt so, dang it getting more Bresse eggs to try again but still trying with the Quail as well. This should be fun lol They both should be arriving Friday-ish. So I will Set the Chickens Saturday and the Quail Monday and hope for the best.
My incubator is pretty tall so putting in a half wall would keep them separate but shouldn't affect the temp or humidity much. Telling them apart won't be an issue. My concern was would the chicken chicks bully the quail chicks because of the size difference.
Thanks for these, very helpful!
Thanks! Good to know!I never bother with a wall for mine. Those little quail are so feisty that it's no big deal if they hatch along with the chickens. I hatch and brood then all together with no issues.
I was thinking about sneaking in a few quail eggs with my chicken eggs too.
Yep They will be going in this weekend with any luck. The quail going in Monday.
Here we go again lol
I was more worried about the biggies running over the littles and smooshing them but @Auroradream26 said no issues.
Are you going to try? I'm collecting eggs from my quail this week.
Well, count me out. I caved and set my eggs today so they should hatch on my birthday. I am weak... i know. So remove me please. ![]()
