SO GATHER UP YOUR CAT, DOG, HAMSTER, GUINEA PIG, HERMIT CRAB, TURTLE, ALLIGATOR, AND RATTLE SNAKE EGGS, AND GET THEM IN THE INCUBATOR!!! :wee:wee

I candled the eggs in my incubator and pulled 6 of the 7 that I think are clears. I left the 4 that I think are blood rings in there plus the 7th one I think is clear.
I had a day in the first week that I went down to check and my temps were higher than I wanted them to be. Wasn't sure if I would have anything hatch but figured I would leave them in to see. I have 15 eggs that I think are still good, so we'll see.

Beagle stuck out to me too. They have the same body and ears as a beagle.

OMG those eyes!

Yeah, they definitely look hound!! Beagle probably as they are small and cute like that ha

Sorry often eyes can start blue nose is a good indicator there some pit's carry the blue otherwise malamute or siberian

I think Aussies and Border Collies can have blue eyes too. Or maybe it’s any merle dog.

Since this is my first time, I’m candling an egg or two every day or every other day , came across an egg that quit between day 6 and now. That’s a total of 6 down for me from the start with 43/49 still going. I think there’s two marans that may have quit but I can’t tell yet totally.

I totally get not candling often and all the reasons why.... but this is my first time so I’m going with it. So much to learn! (One of those six though is because I cracked it! :-/) anyway, I feel like I read somewhere not to candle during this second week? Why is that if so?

Here was the day 11 egg I did. Figured out how to get a little mini video through an animated gif on the site! Yay!

Good Morning BYC!
After candling on Monday. 4/8/19, started with 64 set.. now at 58. and counting down to Lock Down. This year I am not going to candle a second time like I have in the past. I want to keep humidity levels constant. we had a few shrink wrap last year, And my DIY incubators are set up to add water without opening. Cheers. Congrats! Those are good numbers. Your setup sounds awesome! How did you engineer a way to add water without opening?

see the clear hose on the left? water tray under mesh and turner, small funnel on the end of the hose to add water to tray, the tray has a sponge standing up to help transfer moisture into air.
