So far, the eggs I've had shipped have all arrived decently, only one out of 3 have arrived in egg cartons, tough, Most wrap in bubble wrap and surround with shredded paper or similar. I believe I've had a total of 3 broken eggs out of 43 or so eggs, but there have always been some loose air cells for sure. Between air travel and road beatings and who knows what they do in sorting that is to be expected. The one I got most recently literally looked like someone in the postal system had drop-kicked the box, but only one broken egg out of 28.

 Dang! How was your hatch with the drop-kick-box eggs?

I always just assumed it was because the mail trucks drive like crazy around here and we've basically got roads patterned like swiss cheese and washboards from all the farm equipment that uses them out here.

I don't recall anything outwardly wrong with how any were packaged, but it's been a long time, I was quite naive about shipped eggs back then, and any time I get anything poultry-related in the mail I'm a whirlwind of emotions. I don't really recall how either of my incubators were packaged when they arrived, either, and I just got the one last summer! View attachment 1684958 I see that box arrive and I'm already mentally unpackaging it, I guess. :gig

Don’t hide!! Some post offices are definitely rougher than others and most packages actually usually drop 6 feet from belts! So that can definitely have a huge effect and it sounds like your post office is rough!! But some people also pack extremely poorly and/or just have loose eggs bouncing around a box with some shredded paper or maybe in an egg carton but still bouncing around cause it’s a big box with nothing to stop the movement or no bubble wrapped or otherwise protected eggs just put the eggs loose and/or with barely any padding. It is amazing how poorly some people can pack. But it is also amazing how poorly some post offices treat stuff!! I have actually read on some seller’s sites that they don’t mark boxes as fragile since those ones actually usually, ironically, seem to be treated worse!!

Oh wow!!! Good luck with the hatch!! Sometimes I do wonder if sometimes employees don’t purposely kick or beat up boxes lol

It's on day 3 in the incubator now. Many of the eggs were too dark to really see air cell but could see a few loose for sure.

Oh! Well, sending lots of good hatching vibes for drop-kicked-chickies! :p

Lol thanks. Could be such a wide variety of chicks so I can't wait to see if I get hatchers what type I get. :)

Good luck!!

I have a broody duck sitting on 7 eggs, they’re due to hatch on the 15th.
