My hatch of quail is at 30 now. One is still in the incubator but I do not have much hope for it.

Two of the quail are showing neurological issues. I gave them some vitamins to see if they will make it.

It is not surprising, some of the eggs were fairly old.

First out. More to come. My temp dipped a lot one cold day here and we are done heating with wood so this room got cold. Other than that temp seems spot on. Set about 3pm on Saturday, first faint chirps were 4am, first pip 8am, first out 6pm.

Honestly folks, if your hatching most or all chicks full day early your running temp a tad high. Didn't seem to hurt anybodies hatch rate though.

Done! I am very pleased with my 12 chicks. I got some very nice color patterns from my mixed flock so I can’t wait to see how they look as they grow.
Stats: Set 24, discarded 12 clears. Of the 12 that made it to lockdown all hatched. So my total is 12.

So far I just have the 1. The egg that pipped last night has not started to zip, so not sure if it died or if it is just taking a super long break. Starting to get discouraged.

I had one that pipped then sat there for a day and a half before hatching so don't give up yet!

It is exciting to see the pip, then painful to wait for the hatch. This hatch, mine have been taking 7-12 hours between pip to hatch, with one waiting a full day. I have had (in previous hatches) a couple that took 24-36 hours to arrive.

Up to 6 Turkey poults! And 2 more pips. Still no chicks, afraid they are all dead.
