I see you couldn't wait another day. I tried to get grown or at least point of lay pullits but couldn't find any. Had to give up and buy chicks.

My oldest are still 10 week away from laying. I grew up with chickens and have them myself off and on for 30 years and i can't remember a time that the first lay took so loooooooog.

I'm waiting @ 20 weeks...

1 Red Sex Link
1 Sicilian Buttercup
1 Rhode Island Red

***sigh**

First egg from my barred rock today at 21 weeks old but it is tiny! Smallest egg I have ever seen
Will they get bigger ?

Oh yes, the first eggs can be tiny. The hen is just getting the kinks out. For a while the eggs will come as small, medium or large, there can be missed days or double yoakers. Its an adventure every day. After a while things will smooth out, the egg size will become consistent and you will start noticing her laying rhythm, how many eggs a week she lays and how often.
