I saw the census jobs here advertised at a bit over $12 on a flyer yesterday, that's nowhere near $25. Also, in my neighborhood (and town actually) I would feel pretty safe going up to people's doors. But, bear in mind that they legally have to go to EVERYONE's door who has not turned in a form, there are some mighty sketchy places in the States.


Filled mine out yesterday - 6 minutes.

$17 an hour here. An yes they can refused to go to a house an a supervisor or 3 will do that house.

I will NOT be filling mine out! Its none of their buisness how many people live with me. They already know how much I make and all about my money situation. They can shove it! I work! I pay my taxes! I have insurance! Everything else is my buisness!!!!!!!

They are still hiring here as well. Pay must be based on region? I figured that the lowest level peeps could refuse to go, but the point is that some poor census worker (or 3) is going to have to. I hope that they are paid as the job should be for that.

The one thing I can say about the census is if it hadn't been for them, I would have never found out about my DH's father's family. I have combed over lots of census reports in doing the family tree.
